Immediate Therapy of the Burn Injury

Abstract
|
|
|
Burn injures are caused by wide variety of agents including flame, hot water, steam, chemicals, electricity or radiation. The general principles of management are about the same in all types. There is considerable difference of opinion about what cons-titutes the optimal type of treatment for burns.
Immediate therapy of the patient with a major burn should be directed toward restoration of normal physiologic parameters and prevention of life-threatening com-plications.
